Denise Laframboise is a local entrepreneur, Mortgage Agent and Whitby resident. She has 15 years of experience working in health-care where she adjusted practices to accommodate different abilities of patients. Since 2014, Laframboise has been a member of the Town of Whitby Accessibility Advisory Committee and has played an active role in assuring that the Town of Whitby is an accessible place to live and work.
As the Director of SME Programs, Louie DiPalma is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce that are designed to strengthen the business climate of Ontario and support its members by providing them with access to resources. Over the past several years, he has helped businesses across Ontario understand and comply with the accessibility laws by dispelling myths and sharing best practices.
Accessibility Coordinator, Town of Whitby
As Accessibility Coordinator at the Town of Whitby, Michele Cotton is responsible for leading corporate-wide organizational change programs required to ensure the principles of accessibility and compliance with legislated requirements of the Accessibility Standards; the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act, 2005; and the Ontarians Disabilities Act, 2001. By providing strategic and policy advice on a corporate level, Cotton leads the Town's efforts to ensure facilities, services and programs support an accessible, barrier-free community.
